BHS Students make All-State

On January 13, Seniors at Brownsboro High School, Hannah Hatton and Jace Thomas achieved All-state choir and All-state band, respectively.

“I was ecstatic when I heard my name called,” said Hatton. “I had invested so much time and effort into this moment from the moment I began to sing in choir.”

Hatton, who participated in choir for five years, was third in the Region. She advanced to pre-area where she placed second and later placed fourth in area, which qualified her to sing in the All-State choir.

Through a similar process, Thomas auditioned for the Association of Texas Small School Bands All-State band in Chapel Hill, where he was announced 1st chair All-state Tenor Trombone.

“I feel extremely honored to have the opportunity to perform with such a talented group of musicians,”  said Thomas. “This achievement has pushed me to pursue my dream of being a professional trombonist in an orchestra.”

Hatton and Thomas will travel to San Antonio February 14-17 to rehearse and perform in the All-State Band and Choir.
