The Brownsboro ISD Board of Trustees, at its meeting on August 5, named Dr. Keri Hampton, as the lone finalist for Superintendent. By law, the Board must wait 21 days before Hampton’s employment is official as the Superintendent of Brownsboro ISD.
“I am humbled and extremely honored that the BISD Board of Trustees has entrusted me to serve in this new capacity," she said. "I strongly believe in the work that is taking place in BISD as we work together to provide every student with the best educational experience and I am looking forward to working with our community, and working alongside our staff and the BISD Board of Trustees as we look toward the future.”
The board has followed a lengthy process in determining the finalists. The Board of Trustees examined over 47 applications and interviewed four candidates for the position.
“I truly believe Dr. Hampton is the most qualified person for the job, is already plugged into the district and will lead us into the future that BISD hopes for our students,” BISD Board President Steve Sanders said.
This year marks Hampton’s 20th year as a public school educator. Dr. Hampton has recently served as the Assistant Superintendent in Brownsboro ISD for the last three years and has been involved with the district strategic plan, adoption of the new English Language Arts curriculum, and Teacher Leadership Academy. She has also served as a campus principal, assistant principal and teacher prior to coming to Brownsboro ISD.
Dr. Hampton and her husband, Justin, have one daughter.
